Introduction

Within the framework of the GDPR and data protection regulations and the Federal Data Protection Act (DPA), you will find the necessary information to ensure the proper processing of your Data in the remainder of this document.

Use of our Services implies your consent to the collection, use and processing of data and information from you, your activity on the Services or about you. By accessing and/or using our Services, you confirm and agree to the processing of your Data as defined in this document.

The main entities involved on your Data processing are us, the Account Manager, the Pages and the Users. We allow them the possibility to process, access, copy, modify or edit some or all of your Data in the allowed way of our Privacy Policy.

Collected data

We and/or our Partners may collect data that can both identify you directly, such as your email, name, etc., and indirectly. The collected data may be sent to servers located outside of Europe or Switzerland. In particular, some of our platforms have their host in France, or other services may transmit data to the United States.

We and/or our Partners may collect Data as soon as one of our Services is also on another website that you visit. However, this collection is very limited when there is no interaction with our Services. Nevertheless, it is the duty of the person managing the site where we are integrated to ensure that you accept our conditions before charging our Services.

When you interact with our Services, we and/or our Partners may collect the data necessary for that interaction to take place as desired. For example, when you write a comment, we collect, in particular, the text of the comment, the time of the comment, the author, etc.

When (and not exclusively) you respond to surveys, post information or texts, change your settings, or contact us, the data provided in these various interactions is collected.

While using our Services, We and/or our Partners may ask you to provide us certain personal data that can be used to contact or identify you. Personal data may include, but is not limited to:

Please note that our Privacy Policy may refer to other Privacy Policy of Partners, Pages or subcontractors. Therefore, a partner or a subcontractor may ask you some information also based on their own Privacy Policy.

We and/or our Partners collect information from or about computers, tablets, telephones, or other devices where you install or access the Services. Your IP address, the identification number of your device or browser, or the characteristics of the device or software through which you access the Services may be collected in order to identify your session, to identify you, to facilitate certain settings (e.g., identify your language) or to show you your active sessions. We and/or our Partners may also deduced your approximative geographical location with your IP address in order to fulfill the objectives described in the section “Data processing, for what purposes?

We and/or our Partners also collect data related to your activities on our Services, such as the frequency and duration of your activities, page views and network status (in order to try to minimise your Data download when you are in 3g for example).

our Partners or Pages may also ask you directly some other information or data, in which case, you may access their own Privacy Policy in order to have the proper information on which data are collected, the reason, and other informations such as what rights you have.

When our Services allows identification to our Services via external services such as (but not limited to) the Twitter Login and you use such services, we and/or our Partners may collect your ID and username for the service in question. We and/or our Partners may also collect, if you allow it, information that you agree to share with us, such as your email address or date of birth or the list of your friends and other specific data on which we or the external service suggest you to share with us..

In general, if you authorize third party services to share data with us and our Partners, we  and/or our Partners may use this data and combine it with other information collected about you. However, we will not access external databases without your consent.

How data collection works

In order to store preferences, and to collect data, we and/or our Partners may  use processes similar to those used by many online companies and services, such as cookies or the following elements. This enables us to improve our Services, but also to protect them or simply to offer them. Thus we and/or our Partners may also adapt the content and advertising (if activated) to your profile.

Technologies used:

These are small data files stored on your device's hard drive. They allow us and/or our Partners to better understand your interaction with our Services or the different usage patterns. Our cookies may store some of your information, such as your username or an identifier. This makes it possible to personalize the content in particular. You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences by clicking on the appropriate opt-out/managing links provided on this page (domainname/CG).

You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our website though your access to some functionality and areas of our Services may be restricted. As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information.

Authentication cookies: Because these cookies are strictly necessary to deliver our Services to you, you cannot refuse them. You can block or delete them by changing your browser settings however, as described above.

Types of cookies

There are several types of cookies, those that allow the Services to work properly, those that allow the Services to be personalized, those that measure audiences, those for advertising or tracking purposes, and those for social networking purposes.

However, all these cookies do not come from the same sources, in fact on the same website you can have cookies from us or from our Partners, so we distinguish between internal cookies, deposited by us, and third party cookies, deposited by Partners.

Cookie lifetime and blocking

The lifetime of cookies varies according to their function, indeed some cookies (known as session cookies) do not last longer than the time of your visit, but other cookies, allowing for example to record information during a first visit may persist and thus allow to "remember" your last choices when you return.

With your web browser you normally have the possibility to block cookies on our Services. However, without cookies, we cannot guarantee that your visit will be successful, as some of our Services may no longer function.

Usefulness of cookies

Internal cookies are essentially functional, here is the list:

They allow you to access your Account and keep your session open from page to page.

They allow you to change some aspects of our Services, such as the language, the state of the chat (open or closed), some security parameters or certain data concerning you, for example to be able to say "Welcome YourName" where YourName is replaced by the value of the cookie.
These cookies may also allow us to display a certain type of content rather than another based on what we know about you, for example, to offer you the category "all posts" rather than the front page category if we see, for example, that you are taking the time to view all the posts.

We and/or our Partners may also use cookies for audience measurement or statistical purposes (we do not refer to personally identifiable profiling or tracking).

Third party cookies include cookies from our Partners

Deposited by third party content in our advertising locations, which locations partially fund the Services.

These advertising cookies make it possible to count the advertisements displayed, to identify them, or to count their respective display, as well as the number of people who clicked on them or consulted them, or the number of people who were redirected by these advertisements and the actions taken afterwards on the places where you were redirected. This allows the advertiser to know how much it owes to the various persons concerned by the display of these advertisements or to establish anonymous statistics.

These advertising cookies not only make it possible to prevent the repeated display of the same advertisement, they also make it possible to display content in the advertising slots according to, for example, your location; this is therefore targeted advertising, which you can deactivate.

They are therefore functional cookies, enabling actions such as those defined for internal cookies to be carried out.

To the extent that we do not control the purpose of third party cookies (including third party advertising cookies), they are subject to the policies of the third parties that have deposited them.

Similar to cookies, these technologies store information on your device and may record certain information about your activities and preferences.

Local storage as well as cookies are often accepted by default by your browser, please modify your browser settings to change this. However, no longer accepting cookies and local storage from our Services may affect your ability to access our Services.

These identifiers are used, stored and processed to identify you, so you agree that we may formally identify your device. Third parties we work with may also have access to this data because we use some of their plug-ins on our applications, for example Google Firebase, which allows us to send notifications.

It also collects and processes information such as advertising identifiers or the way your devices interact with our Services.

When you refuse to accept our cookies or did not accept them yet, we will normally not allow our Partners’ services to be loaded on our Services and therefore to analyze your visit or make marketing research and storage on you.

You may use the help of an opt-out website to remove access from our third party specifically to your Data and use of cookies.  You can find an example of such platform here:  https://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=1#!/

Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to a website.  We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage our Services and Subscription Service by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users.  In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages or in emails and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We use clear gifs or pixels in our HTML-based content to let us know which topics have been accessed by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs in emails to our customers' Personal Information.

The use of cookies and web beacons by any tracking utility company is not covered by our Privacy Policy or Cookie Policy.

By accepting our cookies or completing one of our data form (like Newsletter or course registration form) you accept all the following points about our Partners or subcontractors:
